Merwari language is spoken by a large group in Ajmer district and surrounding areas of Rcentreajasthan. Which are mainly found in Ajmer and Nagaur districts of Rajasthan. Ajmer is a center of culture and education in Rajasthan. There are many reasons why this area holds the status of a good place. The British chose Ajmer for its prestigious Mayo College, which is a renowned school in India. Ajmer is a place of pilgrimage where the Dargah of Muslims is also found and the only temple dedicated to Brahma is also located in Pushkar. Merwari people living in the city are involved in many professions and their main source of income in the villages is agriculture. About 150 years ago, Scottish missionaries came to Ajmer and did gospel preaching work here. Now we can see many missionary organizations working in this area. Still, only a few people turned to the gospel.
Pushkar Fair in India is a very famous colourful fair which is held in Pushkar village in Ajmer. Apart from selling horses, camels, cows and bulls, thrilling camel cart races and cultural programs can be witnessed here.
